Nadeem Khan, the National Secretary of the Association for Protection of Civil Rights (APCR) and a well-known advocate for minorities and social justice, was targeted in a dramatic and illegal raid on November 30, 2024, when four Delhi Police officers, including the SHO of Shaheen Bagh Police Station, arrived at a private residence in Bangalore where Khan was staying. Without any arrest warrant or formal notice, the officers attempted to detain Khan, coercing him to travel with them to Delhi for questioning under an FIR filed that very afternoon.

Delhi High Court protects Nadeem Khan from arrest, quashes non-bailable arrest warrant

In a major relief to human rights defender Nadeem Khan, the Delhi High Court has granted him protection from arrest in a case accusing him of promoting enmity and criminal conspiracy. Nadeem, the National Secretary of the Association for Protection of Civil Rights (APCR), was facing an FIR registered by Delhi Police on charges of promoting enmity, acts prejudicial to the maintenance of harmony, public mischief, and criminal conspiracy after a video documenting hate crimes went viral.
