An FIR has been registered against Kumar Kaushalendra, the editor of a YouTube channel, at Jagannathpur police station in Ranchi for allegedly maligning the image of Jharkhand Health Minister Dr Irfan Ansari.

The FIR has been registered under Section 356 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) and Cyber Crime (IPC) related to defamation. A written complaint was made on behalf of the minister by his close secretary Azharuddin.

They allege that an attempt was made to tarnish the image of the minister by making negative publicity on the basis of false facts.

A case pending in the High Court was distorted and presented without any evidence so as to damage the image of the minister.

He alleges that many false and misleading news have been circulated on the said YouTube channel in the past. The journalist concerned has also been accused of blackmailing. The police of Jagannathpur police station is investigating the whole case.
