Arrests – Journalists

The Mohali district police arrested an independent journalist in Punjab in an alleged extortion case on Friday night, officials said. The accused journalist Rajinder Singh Taggar, who runs a web portal punjabdastavez.com, will be produced before court Saturday. A suspended assistant inspector general of police was also arrested in connection with the case registered last month. “We have arrested Malwinder Singh Sidhu and the investigation is on,” a senior police officer told The Indian Express.
