Attacks – Journalists

An FIR has been registered against six people in the city police station in the case of assault on journalist Avinash Mandal. According to the information, journalist Avinash Mandal had published news related to illegal lottery sale in his portal and digital newspaper. After the publication of the news, some people associated with the lottery business had also threatened Avinash Mandal.

On Sunday, many people associated with the illegal lottery business abused and beat Avinash and injured him in the railway station premises. Avinash Mandal had filed a written complaint against six people in the city police station regarding the matter. On the complaint of the journalist, case number 11/24 has been registered under sections 323, 342, 504, 506, 379/34 of the Indian Penal Code against Rikki Ansari, Salim Ansari, Rajan, Pappu Kumar, Roshan and Zaheer Sheikh, residents of Harindanga Bazaar in Nagar police station Police is taking further action regarding the matter.
