Janta kaReporter has been following up on a shocking story: 20 lakh missing EVMs. Based on RTI replies obtained by a Mumbai-based activist, Manoranjan Roy, the website said that the Bengaluru-based BEL and Hyderabad-based ECIL had admitted supplying nearly 40 lakh EVMs to the Election Commission, the national poll body said it only had a record of 20 lakh EVMs.

But the story took another turn altogether when Janta Ka Reporter editor-in-chief Rifat Jawaid recorded a video blog and shared this on social media. According to him, the Election Commission sent a letter to Twitter to ask that the video be taken down!
