Late on Saturday night, fearless criminals attacked journalist Baidyanath Mahato with the intention of murder. He was beaten brutally. He hit so much that the front three teeth broke and went into the stomach. The head and neck were hit with sharp weapons. After this, considering him dead, he was thrown on the roadside near Tiril pond in Kokar.

When the PCR team noticed him at 3 o’clock in the night, he picked him up and admitted him to RIMS. Marks of attack with a deadly weapon were found on his neck and head. At present he is admitted in the ICU of Neuro Ward of RIMS. According to doctors, Baijnath’s condition still remains critical.

Chief Minister Hemant Soren has condemned the incident and wished for the speedy recovery of the journalist. The Chief Minister said that the accused will not be spared under any circumstances. Congress State President Rajesh Thakur and Press Advisor to the Chief Minister Abhishek Prasad have also condemned the incident.
