In a statement shared on Instagram, founder and editor-in-chief Ameer said that Meta has banned their page in India by legal request of the Indian government. “This is censorship.” He added that in a time when Western and legacy media publications continue to fail the Muslim community with harmful coverage and narratives, restricting access to information is detrimental.

The platform demanded that Meta reinstate their account access in India & remove censorship on media entities covering news affecting the Muslim community.
