Lawfare, Detention – Journalists

We have recorded 50 instances of journalists being detained while reporting on the protests.

Despite the Supreme Court order that “Lawyers, journalists and other professionals shall not be hindered in the discharge of their professional duties in any manner whatsoever,” the Delhi Police has continued to detain journalists reporting from the ground.

http://SFLC.in condemns this act of contempt of court and attack on press freedom. Journalists must be able to report on the ground without fear of detention or intimidation.
